Ayurveda

A few essentials on Ayurveda

Ayurveda or the science of life was described and detailled in a number of ancients indian texts transcribed in sanscrit.

This science is today widely used in india and is studied at university and regulated by state.

It associates diet, herbology and the practice of massages and treatments that mainly use oil, milk, rice or ghee preparations and decoctions.

Ayurveda is mainly a preventive medecine but it is also a healing and curative one.

Ayurvedic massages take into account the energetic/vital body points known as marmas and are 107 individual locations on the body. On the contrary of other asian medecines, ayurvedic massages do not apply pressure to these points, but will either stimulate them or avoid them completely for certain ones so as to generate a balanced energy flow throughout the body and avoid any trauma.
